The only Romanian film selected this year at the Venice Film Festival is I Count, Alina Şerban's debut often described as "the first feature film made by a Roma director". I Matter had its first screening last night, with a band of fiddlers accompanying Şerban on the red carpet, and the laudatory chronicles were not long in coming.
