"Sisu 2": bloodier than "The Passion of the Christ"

The sequel to the 2023 hit splashes the screen with buckets of blood

Until he starts directing a Rambo prequel, the Finnish Jalmari Helander comes to screens on Wednesday with Sisu: Road to Revenge, a period film that could earn the title of the bloodiest feature of the year. It would be best if Mel Gibson - who is currently filming two sequels to The Passion of the Christ, also with a Finn in the lead role - doesn't see it, because he would surely be jealous. In the first film, gold prospector Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila) kills hundreds of Nazi soldiers after they steal his gold; in the sequel, he has a much more emotional itinerary (and just as implausible).
