Considered a weighty indicator of Oscar winners, awards balance the odds
There are less than two weeks left until the Oscars, and the odds seemed to be tilting in favor of One Battle After Another (usually abbreviated OBAA), but the Hollywood Screen Actors Guild awards seem to balance the odds: Sinners, Ryan Coogler's vampire musical, won the most important trophy. In the jargon of this gala, the award was won by all the actors in the film, but the trophy is the equivalent of the Best Picture category at the Oscars and is also important in light of the extremely large number of actors who vote for both galas.
