The captivating Greek film by Hungarian director György Pálfi has a chicken as its protagonist
You look at Găina (The Hen) and you are left with the impression that people are. Nothing escapes us, we take away the territory of animals and birds to build houses, we take away their chickens, eggs, fur, meat and bones. We take their time and put them to work and often abandon them when they become powerless and need our help the most. György Pálfi's hen is not a finger pointed at the human race, but an invitation to an awakening to reality: animals also have, if not desires and ideals, at least preferences in terms of how they want to live their lives.
