The 2026 edition of the festival in Sighetu Marmatiei screened dozens of films outdoors at the Maramureşan Village Museum
After five nights of cinema, the Maramureş International Film Festival (MMIFF) in Sighetu Marmaţiei ended on August 23rd. The film screenings took place at the Maramureșan Village Museum, highlighting the local heritage. Short films from 23 countries, productions and co-productions from Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Moldova, Cuba, USA, Brazil, Spain, Great Britain, Canada, Argentina, Germany, Uzbekistan, Israel, China, Italy, Cyprus, Bangladesh, Poland, France, Bulgaria, Colombia, Czech Republic and Iran were presented.
